Ayurveda, (Sanskrit for Life Wisdom) is yoga's 5,000 year-old sister science, offering a modern-guide for a life of happiness, vitality, balance, and purpose. From the Ayurvedic perspective, human beings are not viewed as mere thinking physical machines, but rather, as fields of intelligence in dynamic exchange with the energy and information of the environment.
As health is a state of vibrant balance in which all the layers of one’s life are integrated, the wisdom of Ayurveda provides the tools to enhance your physical and emotional well being through your conscious choices.
The first steps in this process are great fun: Identifying the mind-body constitution you were born with. There's a good reason you tend toward lethargy or hyperactivity, irritation or avoidance, spaciness or rigidity or too much humility. And why do certain colors, fragrances, and natural environments bring a deep sense of peace? Why do you need so much sleep or so little? Why are you attracted to charismatic people, or those who emanate reliability? Why do you gain weight easily, or eat and not gain?
Ayurveda explains how your mind-body dosha (Sanskrit for constitution) shapes how you perceive the world, how your body finds homeostasis, and how you need your immediate environment it to support you. It helps you understand your loved ones too, and how and why their intrinsic dosha might be so different from yours.
And then, Ayurvedic wisdom provides all the natural remedies for each individual. The goal is to work with, celebrate and support everyone's unique physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. Square pegs get square holes, and round pegs their perfect fit, too.
This workshop is the first of a five session program that participants can join at any time in 2021 and 2022. Each workshop builds on the last, but also work as stand-alone workshops.
Session 1 will be an introduction to doshas (mind-body constitution) and will include a personal checklist/questionaire to determine personal prakruti (the constitutional traits you were born with) and vikruti (the dominant imbalances that might be present right now).

We'll explore our doshic balancing effort through our SoulCollage® decks. Bring Neters (or just one) representing the Ayurvedic building blocks of nature: Air, space, fire water, earth.
About Your Ayurvedic Lifestyle Coach:
I became certified in Meditation and Ayurveda through The Chopra Center for Wellbeing in 2010 and 2011. I love the psychology and natural science of this ancient blueprint for mind-body health, and l Iove teaching these workshops.
My personal favorite Ayurvedic lifestyle remedies involve the inner pharmacy of sound healing (including harmonic melodies, as well as neighborhood birds), and, nature hikes.
Daily Ayurvedic lifestyle practices I can't live without include: meditation, yoga, abhyanga (face and head massage with my dosha appropriate oil), and tongue scraping (it's not gross, I promise).
