Praise for Lisa's Woe & Awe:
What a watering of the soul. Woe & Awe is wondrous admiration of life from all sides of pain and delight. From root to branch, girlhood to motherhood, nature to the spirit that connects us all. I want to eat these poems for breakfast every morning.
~Allison Miller, Actor and Film Maker
Lisa M. Miller reveals her courageous soul as she explores her journey of growth through life's tough experiences. But we are reminded that life's ups and downs are an essential part of this human experience as Lisa asks: “What if adversity has always been/essential/in a breathing life?” and, “Imagine/all your pains/are pearls really/on celestial string/” These poems remind us that everything we experience makes us who we are, and that woe and awe are close companions on the journey of life.
~Catherine Anderson, SoulCollage® and Veriditas Labyrinth Trainer
Lisa M. Miller's poetry grows on you in profundity with its lyricism and irony. Touching poems like, “I Come Home" intones humility and gratitude in the natural beauty of the woods. But what initially appears simple on the surface is filled with depth, honesty and insight. This book is for anyone who has suffered, is willing to probe, and is searching for hope.
~Rabbi Judith Edelstein, D. Min., Mussar Teacher
Throughout Woe & Awe, her debut poetry collection, Lisa Miller invokes the voices of female ancestors, physical and spiritual, who dare to suggest, “What if adversity has always been/essential?” Sustained by their spirit, Miller wrestles intergenerational and personal trauma in poems of vision, wit, and fierce clarity. Woe & Awe spans a lifetime, addressing personal crises, cultural history, and the Jewish diaspora. By the end of the volume we’ve seen the poet rendered whole, daughter and mother, deep in the joy of her own daughters, carrying her darkness and bearing the care of others who’ve been damaged. This is a shadowed book, never free of the certainty of suffering, but equally intent on embracing healing. Woe & Awe speaks back to shame. Whatever damage the past has done, “Leave it. Leave it again./The pulse of you depends/on a deliberate Yes.” Woe & Awe is a brave book, a book we need now more than ever.
~Leatha Kendrick, Author of And Luckier

I was a leader as a teacher and then as a principal. I retired in 2013. I’m enjoying your book. Soul collage facilitation is a different kind of leadership and your book is extremely helpful in providing specifics about any sort of meeting whether it’s Soul Collage, coaching, art groups or whatever the event is. I’m beginning Chapter 6 and looking forward to the rest of the juicy nuggets within your book. Thank you for writing this gem.
~Cindy W

What a great read! As a facilitator/leader myself, I found it right on point for everything you need to be a calm and confident leader. It's insightful, personable and funny with tons of encouraging heartfelt messages. Reminds readers how important their life experiences are, and how sacred it is to share and be with others. It truly goes step-by-step with ideas to help go from a spark of dream into a fully fleshed out plan. It can truly help anyone who wishes to step into their own power to lead and she helps you realize "You got this!".
~Debra B
I appreciated how Lisa M. Miller integrated Circle process, energetics, mindfulness and gratitude practices into her description of how to create sacred gatherings. She also offers many personal anecdotes, as well as helpful advice about when to switch directions and how to develop a fee structure that is strategic, as well as sustainable.

This books give such tremendous insight into Lisa's secret sauce---what allows her, time after time, to bring together strangers and bind them together in a sacred space. Having attended many of her workshops, I still find myself surprised when the magic happens again. I so enjoyed reading the book, understanding the journey she took to unleash her superpower, and learning the small steps we all might take to develop some of the same skills. Highly recommended!
